The facelifted Outlander was spotted at the Tomei Expressway on the Japanese island of Honshu. The SUV will also gain ventilated semi-aniline leather seats, better-quality materials, and a high-end Yamaha audio system.<\/p>\n<p>More importantly, the automaker confirmed that the mid-lifecycle update will feature the latest generation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/tag\/phev\/\">plug-in hybrid<\/a> 4&times;4 powertrain. This will likely offer a higher output compared to the 248 hp (185 kW \/ 251 PS) predecessor, while a new battery pack will result in a significantly longer electric range. For context, the outgoing model is good for 38 miles (61 km) of zero-emission range. Mitsubishi engineers will also tweak the chassis setup, to improve ride comfort.<\/p>\n<p>We will learn more about the Mitsubishi Outlander in the coming months, as we move closer to its debut. The facelifted model will go on sale in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/tag\/japan\/\">Japan<\/a> this fall, with the European arm of Mitsubishi confirming the start of production in late 2024.
